Dawn Flight Brings Postecoglou to Al-Nassr
Australian Ange Postecoglou, the new head coach of Al-Nassr’s first football team, arrives in Riyadh early Sunday morning to begin his duties with the Yellow, according to special sources for Al-Riyadiyah. Al-Nassr had announced on Friday that Postecoglou would arrive in Riyadh on Saturday, without specifying the flight time, but the same sources clarified that the plane carrying the Australian coach will land at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday. Al-Nassr signed Postecoglou as a replacement for Portuguese Jorge Jesus after his contract ended with the conclusion of last season's competitions, which saw the team crowned with the Saudi Roshn League title. Postecoglou is scheduled to begin his duties with the Al-Nassr team hours after his arrival, as he will lead the training sessions held at the Dar Al-Nassr training center as part of the first phase of preparations for the new season. Al-Nassr is preparing for the new season in three phases: the first is held at Dar Al-Nassr and runs until July 11, after which the team moves to Abha for a second phase lasting until July 22, followed by a third phase that includes an external camp in Lisbon, Portugal, from July 25 to August 5. The Al-Nassr team will begin its preparations without its international players, who have been given additional rest due to their participation with their national teams in the ongoing 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The international players are: Nawaf Al-Aqidi, Abdulelah Al-Amri, Nawaf Boushal, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Ayman Yahya, Abdullah Al-Hamdan, in addition to Senegalese Sadio Mané, and the Portuguese duo Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix.
