The draw for the football competition of the 20th Asian Games 'Aichi-Nagoya 2026' has placed the Saudi Arabia U-21 team in Group D, alongside South Korea and Qatar, in one of the tournament's strongest groups.

The group presents an early challenge for the young 'Green', as they face a South Korean side that is one of Asia's leading forces in youth categories, entering the tournament as the defending football champions from the previous Asian Games, alongside the Qatari team that continues to invest in developing its age-group teams.

The Saudi team relies on its young generation to maintain a competitive presence in continental events, as the tournament serves as an important platform for player preparation and international experience, in addition to being an opportunity to prove the ability of Saudi talents to compete with Asia's top football schools.

The football competition of the Asian Games will be held in Japan from September 19 to October 3, 2026, with 16 teams participating. The Green aims to advance past the group stage despite the tough competition in Group D.

Group D: Saudi Arabia (U-21), South Korea, Qatar. The group is expected to feature intense matches from the first round, given the similar levels and shared ambitions of the three teams to compete for one of the qualification spots to the knockout stages.
