Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, received the players of the Egyptian national football team and the technical and administrative staff in New Alamein City on Saturday, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Youth and Sports Gawhar Nabil, and Engineer Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that El-Sisi awarded the national team players and members of the technical and administrative staff the Cup of Pride and honorary medals in appreciation of their heroic performance and high technical level during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the determination, perseverance, and discipline they displayed.

A commemorative photo was taken of President El-Sisi with the national team players and the technical and administrative staff.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesman, explained that El-Sisi addressed the national team players and the technical and administrative staff, welcoming them at the beginning, expressing his pride and appreciation for the honorable performance of the team, stressing that this praise is a general impression of everyone who followed the national team's matches, among Egyptians, in Arab countries, Egyptian and Arab communities abroad, and also in the world.

El-Sisi praised the high values that the team exemplified, reflecting the authenticity of the Egyptian people, stressing that what was achieved is a commendable effort and great dedication in the name of Egypt.

The Egyptian national team had reached the round of 16 in the World Cup for the first time in its history before losing to Argentina 3-2.
