Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of the Spanish national team, criticized the behavior of players and staff of the Argentine national team after the 2026 World Cup final, describing what happened as "unacceptable behavior".

The end of the match, which Spain won 1-0 after extra time, saw clashes between players from both teams. Some Argentine players, including Nahuel Molina and Leandro Paredes, attacked Spanish players after the final whistle, without any sanctions being imposed so far.

De la Fuente said in statements to official Spanish television: "At that moment I was not aware of what happened, as I was celebrating with the players. But what happened is unacceptable and cannot be allowed, especially when it comes from great players whom I have always praised."

The coach of 'La Roja' praised his players' reaction, stressing that they handled what he described as "provocations and attacks" calmly, noting that the situation could have escalated into more serious events.

Despite the widespread circulation of video clips documenting the incident on social media, no disciplinary measures have been announced against the Argentine players yet.
