Sports / Saudi Lacrosse Federation Announces Formation of Interim Board Chaired by Fahad Al-Muammar
Riyadh, 28 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 13, 2026, SPA – The Saudi Lacrosse Federation announced the issuance of a decision by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, approving the appointment of an interim board of directors for the federation for the term from 2024 to 2028, chaired by Fahad Muhammad Al-Muammar, as part of supporting efforts to develop lacrosse and enhance institutional work, contributing to achieving the goals of the sports sector in the Kingdom. The federation stated in a released statement that the interim board will include: Fahad Muhammad Al-Muammar as chairman, Samer Nahid Al-Sourani as vice chairman, and members Hanouf Muhammad Al-Hadif, Israa Mansour Asiri, Faisal Fawaz Al-Alami, Mishari Abdulrahman Al-Asilan, and Saud Mabrouk Al-Abdulaziz. The statement indicated that the board will work in the coming period to complete the construction of an integrated system for lacrosse in the Kingdom by expanding the base of practitioners, enhancing the spread of the game in various regions, improving technical and administrative performance, and developing national teams across all age groups, supporting the Kingdom's presence in Gulf, Asian, continental, and international tournaments. The board will also launch qualitative initiatives to discover and develop talents, empower women and youth participation, enhance cooperation with sports, educational entities and the private sector, and build strategic partnerships to spread the game and expand its practice, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at supporting the sports sector, increasing the number of practitioners, and achieving sporting excellence at regional and international levels. The federation affirmed that this formation is an extension of efforts since its establishment to build a strong base for lacrosse and enhance the Kingdom's presence in external participations through development programs, camps, and local and international tournaments, reflecting the growth witnessed by the game in the Kingdom.
