Press reports have revealed the match dates for Saudi Al-Ahli in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, as they will be forced to start the competition early in the upcoming edition.

Al-Ahli is participating in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup for the second consecutive time, having started from the quarter-finals in the previous edition before losing to Egypt's Pyramids in the Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup match.

According to Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, "Al-Raqi" will start this edition early, specifically from the qualifying play-off for the Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup match, where they will face the Oceania champion on August 26.

Should they qualify for the quarter-finals, Al-Ahli will face South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, the champions of the previous CAF Champions League edition, on September 19, with the winner advancing to the semi-finals.

Al-Ahli aims to continue their successes on the international stage, as they participate in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup once again after winning the AFC Champions League Elite title twice in a row.

It is worth noting that this edition is the third of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in its new format, with Real Madrid winning in 2024, followed by Paris Saint-Germain being crowned last year.
