Turkish club Besiktas has entered the race to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, amid interest from clubs in the Saudi League and the American League to sign him after his stint with Liverpool ended.

Turkish network A Spor reported that Besiktas has held advanced contacts with Salah and his agents in the past hours, in an attempt to finalize the deal before its competitors from Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Reports indicated that the idea of moving to Turkey might be acceptable to Salah, given his potential desire to continue his career within Europe, play in a competitive league, participate in continental tournaments, and move to a Muslim-majority country.

Details of the Turkish offer

The source explained that Besiktas, led by Italian coach Vincenzo Italiano, is seeking to present an offer that includes a one-season contract with an option to extend for an additional season, while the player's representatives prefer a two-season contract with the possibility of a third-year extension.

The report added that the proposed salary could reach 12 million euros annually, in addition to granting the player a percentage of the revenue from the sale of shirts bearing his name.

Salah's future remains open

In the same context, the report did not reveal the identity of the Saudi or American clubs interested in signing Salah, nor did it indicate any final agreement with Besiktas, leaving the player's next destination open to several possibilities.
