Ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup final, scheduled for next Sunday at MetLife Stadium in the New York suburbs, have reached unprecedented and staggering levels.

According to L'Équipe, FIFA initially announced four price categories for fan tickets: the first category at $11,000, the second at $5,500, the third at $3,600, and the cheapest at $800.

However, in recent weeks, these prices have skyrocketed, nearly tripling, as reported by ABC News, with the most expensive ticket reaching $32,970.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino justified the pricing policy by noting that the United States has "one of the most developed entertainment markets in the world."

Beyond that, the official FIFA-authorized resale website, which takes a 15% commission per sale, saw some premium tickets listed at up to $2 million, though it remains unknown whether they were actually sold.

Faced with such staggering figures, Infantino joked, "If someone buys a ticket to the World Cup final for $2 million, I will personally offer them a hot dog and a soft drink to make sure they have a great time."

According to SeatPick, a ticket price comparison site that analyzed its data from recent World Cup matches, the cheapest currently available ticket for the final is €4,451, while the most expensive reaches €188,803.
