(CNN)-- Norwegian player Andreas Schjelderup opened the scoring for his country against England at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday night in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

Schjelderup's goal came in the 36th minute in a beautiful fashion, as he powerfully shot from inside the penalty area into the left corner of the 'Three Lions' goalkeeper.

The Norway players were overjoyed during the celebration, and Martin Ødegaard carried his teammate Andreas Schjelderup on his shoulders, stealing the spotlight with this moment.

The official World Cup account on 'X' praised Schjelderup's goal, writing: 'A goal of a unique kind.'

The first half of the match ended in a 1-1 draw, and the winner will advance to the semi-finals to face either Argentina or Switzerland.
