Geneva, Muharram 24, 1448 AH, July 9, 2026, SPA — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia won an award and five certificates of excellence at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with several UN organizations, held in Geneva, Switzerland, in recognition of its innovative projects competing against projects from over 194 countries. The Kingdom, represented by Qassim University, won the grand prize in digital education for the 'Qspark' educational platform, a smart platform employing artificial intelligence to provide adaptive and interactive learning experiences, offering personalized learning paths, enabling faculty to monitor student performance and improve educational content using intelligent analytics. The Kingdom also obtained five certificates of excellence for the Open Data Platform project and the National AI Indicator project, submitted by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA); the Ajeer Platform project and the Smart Model for Labor Market Supervision project, submitted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development; and the AI and Data Glossary project, submitted by the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE).
