Education departments in various regions of the Kingdom have called on their staff holding educational positions to benefit from the summer educational professional development activities launched by the National Institute for Professional Educational Development via the 'Namo' platform under the slogan 'Develop in Your Summer'.

It includes a package of specialized programs in employing artificial intelligence in education, instructional design, educational leadership, reading comprehension, environmental sustainability, and specialized teaching strategies, with the aim of developing educational practices, raising professional competencies, and keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the education sector.

The Institute explained that the activities target all holders of educational positions in various regions of the Kingdom, including male and female teachers, school leaders, and educational supervisors, through non-mandatory professional development programs and flexible, high-quality activities that allow beneficiaries to choose training paths that align with their professional needs and specializations, contributing to the development of sustainable professional development plans.

Artificial intelligence in education

The Institute stressed that including AI programs in education comes in response to the expansion of employing modern technologies within the educational environment, and enhancing teachers' abilities to benefit from AI tools in lesson planning, designing educational activities, producing digital content, analyzing educational data, and supporting assessment processes, which reflects on improving the learning experience and raising performance efficiency in classrooms. The activities also include specialized programs in instructional design to enable teachers to build more effective learning experiences and prepare educational content according to modern scientific foundations, in addition to programs in educational leadership aimed at developing school leaders' skills in change management, leading work teams, improving institutional performance, and creating educational environments that stimulate creativity and excellence. The programs also include tracks in reading comprehension to enhance students' reading and comprehension skills and raise teachers' efficiency in applying modern strategies for developing reading skills, along with programs in environmental sustainability that contribute to spreading environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices in schools, linking them to modern educational concepts.

The activities also focus on specialized teaching strategies that support the professional development of teachers and help them employ modern teaching methods that take into account individual differences, support active learning, continuous assessment, and building higher quality and more effective learning environments, in addition to programs that promote values and national identity and develop personal and professional skills for educational job holders. It explained that the 'Namo' platform provides an integrated digital experience that allows beneficiaries to browse development programs and tracks, register for them electronically, and follow up on their training progress, supporting the building of sustainable professional pathways and enhancing investment in educational human capital, embodying the slogan 'Develop in Your Summer' by providing flexible and sustainable learning opportunities that invest the summer vacation in developing professional capabilities and preparing for the new academic year.
