Samsung has introduced a new generation of foldable phones with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which features a wider design and modern hardware.

Among the most notable improvements in this edition are the battery and charging capabilities, as Samsung has moved to much higher specifications than its predecessor with modern technologies.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 battery specifications:

Capacity: 4800 mAh

Wired charging power: 45W

Wireless charging power: 20W

For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 came with a 4400 mAh battery, 25W wired charging, and up to 15W wireless charging.

Thus, Samsung has increased capacity and provided higher charging speed both wired and wirelessly.

Silicon-carbon batteries

The phone also adopts silicon-carbon battery technology for the first time in Galaxy phones, offering better energy density with higher stability.

The company says this technology is currently exclusive to the Z8 series, with a possibility of coming to other phones like the Galaxy S27 next year.

These improvements suit the new reality of foldable phones, giving the Galaxy Z Fold 8 a clear advantage in battery experience over previous generations.
