Global Achievement for King Abdulaziz University
The Red Sea Pioneers team from King Abdulaziz University achieved a remarkable scientific accomplishment, securing seventh place globally in the finals of the MATE ROV world underwater robotics competition hosted by Canada, with participation from 35 international universities. The Saudi team scored 374.67 points in the PIONEER category after developing an advanced remotely operated underwater robot. The project took two years of development within the Manufacturing Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs, where the innovation featured an integrated engineering system combining control, sensing, and execution systems, giving the vehicle superior maneuverability and the ability to carry out complex exploratory and engineering tasks in challenging marine environments. This excellence reflects the quality of national academic output and the competitiveness of young talents.
