One of the basic tasks when editing images using various editing applications is knowing how to resize images and adjust their dimensions. Now, if you want to resize an image, you don't necessarily need to use professional applications; operating systems on Windows and Mac computers have built-in applications that allow you to do this quickly and easily, and there are also websites available online to perform this task.

First: How to resize images on Windows 10:

Windows 10 includes a built-in app called Photos, which not only lets you organize, view, and edit images but also easily resize them as you wish. To do this, follow these steps:

Right-click on the image you want to resize, and from the menu, click Open with, then select Photos to open it in the app.

Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.

From the menu that appears, click on Resize.

A pop-up window will appear with preset sizes for the image to choose from.

If you're not interested in those, click on Define custom dimensions at the bottom.

Enter the values you want in the Width and Height boxes.

Check the box next to Maintain aspect ratio.

Note: When this option is enabled, you can only enter values in one box, and the other box will change automatically.

When finished, click on Save resized copy to save the image to your computer.

Second: How to resize images on Mac computers:

macOS includes an app called Preview, which is the default image viewer on Mac. You can use it to easily resize images. To do this, follow these steps:

Right-click on the image you want to resize, and from the menu, click Open with, then select Preview to open it in the app.

In the screen that appears, click on the Tools tab in the menu bar at the top, then select Adjust Size from the menu that appears.

You will see both the width and height boxes; enter the values you want in these boxes, then click OK.

Note: Select Scale proportionally if you want to maintain the aspect ratio of your image.

Click on the File tab at the top, then select Save from the menu to save the resized image.

Third: Using a web tool:

If you don't want to use the built-in editor or a third-party app, you can use one of the many online image editing tools, such as Adobe Photoshop Express. To do this, follow these steps:

Go to the Adobe Photoshop Express website in your web browser.

Click on Upload File, then upload the image from your computer.

After that, several options will appear on the left side of the screen; select Resize image.

Enter the new image size values in the Width and Height boxes at the top right of the screen.

Note: Do not click the lock icon if you do not want to maintain the aspect ratio.

Click on Resize image at the bottom left.

Click on Download at the top left of the screen.

In the pop-up window that appears, enter a name for the image, then choose the format that suits you.

Click on Download to save the image to your computer.
