The Huawei Mate 90 series for 2026 is preparing to deliver a new technological leap that extends beyond just the processor to include display and screen technologies as well, according to the latest media reports from South Korea.

While the company has already revealed details of the new Kirin chip for 2026 built using LogicFolding technology, attention is now turning to the screen, with leaks indicating that Huawei will adopt advanced PSF (Phosphorescent Fluorescence) technology in the Mate 90 phones.

This technology is the next generation of lighting technologies for OLED screens, differing from traditional screens in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.

PSF OLED relies on a special phosphorescent 'catalyst' that efficiently transfers energy to the lighting units. The result is lower power consumption, higher color purity, and longer screen lifespan compared to previous solutions.

The new technology also supports a multi-path TADF mechanism to reduce energy loss and ensure greater utilization of light-emitting materials.

Among the most notable advantages of PSF OLED screens is the production of pure, narrow-spectrum light, enabling the device to achieve a wide color gamut without excessive color saturation, a challenge that has long faced screen manufacturers.

Last year, Huawei introduced dual-layer OLED screens with a brightness of 8,000 nits in the Mate 80 series, and the tech community is eagerly anticipating the brightness level and color purity that PSF technology will bring to the Mate 90 this year.
