Redmi Announces the Cheapest 5G Phone on the Market

Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi, has announced two new smartphones: the Redmi 10X 5G and the Redmi 10X Pro 5G.

Both phones feature dual-mode 5G connectivity and support for two 5G SIM cards, along with an AMOLED display, a Dimensity 820 processor, and competitive prices.

The Redmi 10X 5G and Redmi 10X Pro 5G come with a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch housing a 16MP front camera on the 10X 5G and a 20MP front camera on the 10X Pro 5G. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

On the back, both phones have a 48MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The 10X Pro 5G additionally features an 8MP depth camera with 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization, plus a 5MP macro camera.

Both phones come with 6GB or 8GB of RAM for the 10X 5G, and 8GB for the 10X Pro 5G. Internal storage ranges from 64GB to 256GB. They run MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

The phones also pack a 4,520 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging for the 10X 5G and 33W for the 10X Pro 5G. They have IP53 water and dust resistance, a headphone jack, and the 10X Pro 5G supports NFC.

The phones will be available in four colors: blue, pink, gold, and white. The Redmi 10X 5G will be priced at $224 for the 6GB/64GB variant, $252 for 6GB/128GB, $294 for 8GB/128GB, and $336 for 8GB/256GB. Sales begin June 1.

The Redmi 10X Pro 5G will be priced at $322 for the 8GB/128GB variant and $364 for 8GB/256GB. Sales begin June 6.
