CNET
Samsung is preparing to unveil the new generation of its foldable phones at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026, with expectations of launching three main models: Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.
According to a recent report, Samsung changed its production plans after noticing rising demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which for the first time from Samsung features a 4:3 aspect ratio screen.
The company decided to increase the planned production quantity of this model to 2.8 million units in the first three months of launch, compared to 2 million units of the Z Fold 8 Ultra, and 1.5 million units of the Z Flip 8 in the same period.
With these numbers, Samsung expects the Galaxy Z Fold 8 to be the best-selling among the new lineup, in response to market demand for the wider-screen phone.
The company plans to produce about 6 million units of the three foldable devices in 2026.
