Al-Jazirah - SPA:

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the United States of America signed a cooperation agreement on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy between the two countries, within the framework of the strategic partnership that binds the two friendly nations, building on the announcement made during the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - to the United States of America last November, regarding the completion of negotiations on cooperation between the two countries in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, and enhancing bilateral cooperation in energy and advanced technologies.

The agreement, signed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, support the exchange of expertise, knowledge, and technologies, contributing to the development of joint cooperation in accordance with the highest international standards related to nuclear safety, security, and non-proliferation, and reflecting the shared vision of the two countries to expand cooperation in energy, future technologies, and sustainable development.

The agreement represents an extension of the existing cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, supporting efforts to diversify energy sources, develop advanced technologies, and enhance cooperation and investment opportunities to achieve the common interests of the two friendly nations.
