WhatsApp has unveiled a set of new features for users on iPhone, iPad, and car systems, as part of an update aimed at improving the user experience and increasing integration with external applications.

These features come as part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to enhance the user experience across different platforms and expand the range of services.

The update includes a comprehensive improvement to the WhatsApp interface on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to listen to messages and reply with voice, make calls, view call history, and access favorite contacts without touching the phone while driving.

In collaboration with Adobe Acrobat, WhatsApp added the ability to open PDF files directly within chats without the need to download them, with options to highlight text and add comments before sharing.

As part of enhancing content sharing, users can now directly share audio clips from the Apple Music app to WhatsApp Status.

WhatsApp also enabled the ability to create a new account directly from an iPad device, without the need to link it to a smartphone, in response to a frequent request from users since the launch of the dedicated iPad app last year.

WhatsApp confirmed that the new features have already begun rolling out gradually to users, and are expected to become available to all users in the coming period.

These features come at a time when WhatsApp is facing increasing competition from other messaging apps. The update focuses on improving ease of use in the car and reducing distraction while driving. It also reflects WhatsApp's direction towards enhancing integration with third-party services. The features are expected to reach all users in the coming weeks.
