The World Bank praised the experimental environment for artificial intelligence in digital education (AI SandboX) launched by the National Center for Electronic Learning in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Bank said in a report on this occasion: 'The Saudi experience presents an integrated national model for employing artificial intelligence responsibly, combining experimentation, governance, capacity building, and coordination of the innovation ecosystem, contributing to improving the quality of digital education and enhancing the readiness of educational institutions for future requirements.'

The report explained that the initiative, led by the National Center for Electronic Learning, is not limited to developing technical solutions, but provides a national environment that enables educational institutions, universities, the private sector, and innovators to develop artificial intelligence solutions and test them in real and safe educational environments, ensuring the responsible use of modern technologies and enhancing the quality of the educational process.

The World Bank noted that the Saudi model is based on integration among national entities, evidence-based knowledge production, enhancing partnerships, and developing scalable practices, making it a model that enables countries and educational systems to benefit from it in developing their educational systems.
