Dammam records 44°C... Weather center warns of thunderstorms and dust-raising winds in 12 regions
The National Center of Meteorology warned of continuing chances of thunderstorms accompanied by active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the southern highlands of the Makkah region, during the expected weather conditions on Thursday.
The center also pointed to the continued impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand in parts of Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern Region, and Najran, warning that the raised dust could lead to near-zero horizontal visibility on the coastal road leading to Jazan.
Expected maximum temperatures:
Dammam records the highest expected temperature at 44°C, followed by Riyadh, Makkah, and Buraidah at 43°C, while temperatures reach 42°C in Madinah, 39°C in Najran, 38°C in Jeddah, Hail, and Arar, 37°C in Tabuk, Sakaka, and Jazan, while Abha records the lowest maximum at 30°C.
Marine report:
The center explained that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds ranging from 20 to 40 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h in the southern part, with wave heights from one to two meters, possibly exceeding two meters in the south, and the sea condition will be moderate to choppy in the southern part.
In the Arabian Gulf, winds will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds ranging from 20 to 42 km/h in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to southwesterly at speeds ranging from 12 to 32 km/h in the southern part, with wave heights from one to two meters in the north and center, and from half a meter to one and a half meters in the south. The sea condition will be moderate in the north and center, and light to moderate in the south.
