The Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of a heat wave reaching dangerous levels in some areas.

The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) reported that vast areas stretching from the Tohoku region in northeastern Japan to the Kyushu region in the southwest are experiencing record high temperatures, warning of heatstroke in 42 of the country's 47 prefectures. It also advised citizens to avoid staying outdoors for long periods, use air conditioners, and drink adequate amounts of fluids.
