National Center for Meteorology Signs Four Cooperation Memoranda to Enhance Community Partnership and Support Weather and Climate Awareness
The National Center for Meteorology signed four cooperation memoranda with a number of specialized bodies and associations, as part of the second coordination meeting of weather and climate influencers and enthusiasts, in a step aimed at expanding the scope of community partnerships, and enhancing integration with non-profit sector institutions, thus contributing to raising awareness of weather and climate, and reducing risks associated with weather phenomena.
The cooperation memoranda included the Ajwaa Association, the Saudi Scientific Association for Meteorology, the Thunderbolt Association for Search and Rescue, and the Hattan Volunteer Team, based on the center’s approach to building effective partnerships with relevant entities and activating joint initiatives that serve the community.
The memoranda aim to enhance areas of cooperation and exchange of expertise and knowledge, coordinate efforts in implementing awareness and training programs, support community initiatives, and benefit from the capabilities available to various entities to promote meteorological culture, raise awareness of risks associated with weather phenomena, contribute to enhancing prevention and response, and support the safety of lives and property.
The center emphasized that these memoranda are an extension of its efforts to establish the principle of partnership and integration with community institutions and expand areas of cooperation with specialized entities, in order to achieve the goals of disseminating reliable meteorological information, enhancing societal readiness to deal with weather phenomena, and benefiting from shared expertise in implementing initiatives and programs with sustainable impact.
