Sunday Weather: Hot Conditions and Active Winds in Several Regions
The National Center of Meteorology expected in its report on today's weather, God willing, hot to extremely hot weather in parts of the Eastern Region and Madinah Region. The impact of active winds raising dust and sand will continue in parts of those areas, as well as in parts of Najran, Riyadh, and Makkah regions, and along the coastal road leading to Jazan. Meanwhile, chances remain for thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, extending to the southern parts of the highlands of Makkah Region.
The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be north to northwest at 15–45 km/h in the northern and central parts, and southwest to northwest at 12–34 km/h, reaching 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave height will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, reaching over two meters in the central part, also with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Sea state will be slight to moderate, becoming rough in the central part, also with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwest to west at 15–32 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state slight to moderate.
