Meteorology on Sunday's Weather: Extremely Hot and Active Winds Stirring Dust and Sand in Several Areas
The National Center of Meteorology expected in its report on today's weather, hot to extremely hot weather in parts of the Eastern Region and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the effect of active winds stirring dust and sand continues in parts of those areas as well as in parts of Najran, Riyadh, and Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and on the coastal road leading to Jazan, while the opportunity remains for thunderstorms accompanied by hail showers and active winds in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha, extending to the southern parts of the heights of Makkah Al-Mukarramah region.
The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be north to northwest at 15-45 km/h over the northern and central parts, and southwest to northwest at 12-34 km/h reaching 50 km/h with formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters reaching over two meters over the central part as well with formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part, and sea state light to moderate waves reaching choppy over the central part as well with formation of rainy thunderclouds over the southern part.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwest to west at 15-32 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state light to moderate waves.
