The death toll from the landslide that occurred in Gansu Province in northwest China has risen to 21 people, after 33 individuals were buried the previous day, according to official media reports today (Wednesday).

The Xinhua News Agency reported that rescue teams rushed to the site of the landslide, which occurred around 6:56 AM yesterday in the village of Rencang in Dangchang County.

The agency quoted local authorities as saying, "Search and rescue operations at the landslide site in Dangchang County have concluded, resulting in 21 fatalities."
