The death toll from floods and landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains in Bangladesh has risen to 51, while 39 others have been injured.

Bangladeshi authorities reported that waters have submerged vast areas in 7 of the country's 64 administrative districts, affecting more than one million people, and many residents remain isolated due to the floods.

The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief revealed that the Cox's Bazar district recorded the highest number of deaths with 28 cases, followed by Chattogram with 13 cases, Bandarban with 6, Rangamati with 3, and Moulvibazar with 1 case, while no deaths were reported in Habiganj and Khagrachhari districts despite being affected by floods.

The ministry noted that about 38,422 people have been moved to temporary shelters, while emergency and relief teams continue their efforts to deal with the effects of the disaster and provide aid to those affected.
