Morocco and France signed on Thursday 12 cooperation agreements in multiple fields, including foreign affairs, civil aviation, railways, and culture.

This came on the sidelines of the 15th session of the High Joint Commission for Cooperation between the two countries, held in the Moroccan capital Rabat on July 15-16.

According to Anadolu correspondent, the signing ceremony was chaired by Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu.

The signed agreements included a letter of intent for cooperation in the field of feminist foreign policy, aiming to exchange expertise and promote feminist diplomacy at the level of the foreign ministries of both countries and in international forums.

The two sides also signed an agreement in the field of civil aviation, including a three-year action plan to define areas and methods of cooperation.

The two officials also oversaw the signing of a loan agreement from the French Development Agency to finance the Rabat regional express train network, and another loan agreement from the same agency to support water policy in Morocco, along with an agreement for cooperation in marine science training.

Among the agreements was a cooperation mechanism to jointly consider the best way to support video game creators and producers in sub-Saharan Africa, and to enhance intensive exchanges between the French National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image and the Communication Department of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The two countries also signed a declaration of intent regarding the teaching of Arabic language, history, and geography in the French education network.

Since French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Morocco in October 2024, mutual visits by officials from both countries have followed, punctuated by the signing of agreements in several sectors.

On that day, King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Macron signed the "Declaration of the Exceptional and Solid Partnership" between the two countries.
