Iran's Revolutionary Guard reported on Sunday that it intercepted ships attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz without permission, amid escalating confrontation between Washington and Tehran over control of the strait.
The Revolutionary Guard said in a statement: "Four ships, supported by American terrorists, attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz ignoring warnings," adding that two of these ships were hit so that they were no longer able to move, while the other two retreated.
