Foreign Minister: No substitute for diplomacy, military force alone does not guarantee lasting stability

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed at the Gulf Research Forum on Tuesday that recent developments in the region have shown the rapid spread of tensions beyond the region and their impact on global security, energy markets, and economic growth, noting that there is no substitute for diplomacy and that military force alone does not guarantee lasting stability.

In his address at the Gulf Research Forum, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal said: 'Recent developments in the region have shown the rapid spread of tensions beyond the region and their impact on global security, energy markets, and economic growth, confirming that there is no substitute for diplomacy and that military force alone does not guarantee lasting stability.'

He added: 'The goal should not be limited to containing tensions, but rather addressing their root causes, building trust, and establishing a stable regional system based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference, good neighborliness, freedom of navigation, and adherence to international law.'

He continued: 'Violations of the principles of respect for sovereignty and non-interference must be met with accountability; policies of aggression and hegemony only lead to insecurity and are incompatible with the stability and prosperity of the region.'
