Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Independence Square in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Thursday on the sidelines of an official visit to the country.

According to diplomatic sources cited by Anadolu, the Turkish foreign minister, accompanied by his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, visited Independence Square and the memorial to Ukrainians who fell in the Russo-Ukrainian war.

It is worth noting that Russia has been waging a military offensive against its neighbor Ukraine since February 24, 2022, demanding that Kyiv abandon its bid to join Western military blocs as a condition for ending the war, a demand Kyiv considers 'interference' in its affairs.
