AP: Pakistan leads new mediation to revive ceasefire agreement between US and Iran
The Associated Press reported, citing regional officials, that "regional mediators are continuing their efforts to bring the United States and Iran back to the negotiating table."
Two officials told the agency that "a mediation led by Pakistan is working around the clock to revive the ceasefire agreement and reactivate the negotiation track."
US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that his negotiators spoke with Iranian officials on Tuesday and told them they must return to the negotiating table. He added: "I told them it's better to make a deal, otherwise you won't have anything left."
Trump affirmed that US strikes would expand in the coming days, noting that US forces "will strike Iran hard" over the next three days, before operations escalate further later.
Trump said that next week will be very bad for them, because we will target power plants and bridges, and we will destroy all power plants and all bridges if they do not sit at the negotiating table.
