The Maltese capital Valletta witnessed a power outage today, following a series of power outages across the country in recent days.
These outages come as the Mediterranean island bids farewell to a five-day heatwave, during which temperatures reached 42 degrees Celsius.

The state energy company 'Enemalta' reported that the power outage was caused by faults in the distribution network, due to the significant rise in temperatures and the unprecedented increase in electricity demand.
