Former U.S. President Joe Biden plans to publish his memoirs titled “Promise Me, America,” which he says will cover a wide range of issues, from the economy to his decision to withdraw from the re-election race.

The memoirs are scheduled to be released on November 17, according to publisher Little, Brown & Company, as told to the Associated Press (AP).

The timing of the book's release, which comes two weeks after the midterm elections in which Democrats are seeking to regain control of Congress, could raise concerns within the Democratic Party about bringing Biden back into the spotlight.

Democrats remain divided over Biden’s legacy, with many blaming his ill-fated insistence on running for a second term for the return of Republican President Donald Trump to the White House. Party leaders hope to keep the fall election campaign focused on Trump and his record, but any leaks or promotional campaigns for the book before votes are cast could cause discontent within the party.

Biden said in a video statement accompanying Wednesday’s announcement: “The book ‘Promise Me, America’ addresses the challenges we faced as a nation. It addresses the decisions I made and why I made them. It also explains the reasons for my decision to run for re-election, and why I ultimately decided to step aside.”
