Iran's Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozafari stated that the United States launched attacks targeting several sites in the province located in the southwest of the country.

Mozafari said in a statement released by the governor's office on Monday that the United States carried out attacks on various areas of the city during the morning hours.

The statement mentioned that the city was bombed twice, without providing details about the attacks or the extent of the resulting damage.

Earlier on Monday morning, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the end of the ninth wave of attacks that the United States has been conducting against Iran.

On June 18, 2026, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that included a ceasefire and began negotiations mediated by Pakistan and Qatar to end the war that the United States and Israel launched against Iran on February 28 of the same year.

However, US President Donald Trump announced on July 8, 2026, the end of the ceasefire against the backdrop of renewed escalation, after Iran attacked three ships a day earlier while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz, claiming they did not adhere to the shipping route it had set, prompting Washington to respond by launching attacks on sites inside Iran.

Washington demands ensuring the freedom and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran insists on imposing a mechanism to regulate the passage of ships through the strategic waterway and affirms that it targets any ship that does not coordinate with it before crossing the strait, exacerbating fears of disruption to oil and gas exports from the region.
