The footage shows the drone flying over a populated area of Chabahar, with smoke rising on the horizon. The identity of the operator of the drone was not clear, but its appearance matched that of a US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone.

Iranian state media reported that US forces launched an attack on a maritime watchtower in the Iranian city of Chabahar for the third time this week. Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency and state broadcaster IRIB said the attack was carried out with a missile targeting the tower, which is primarily used for search and rescue operations for fishermen at sea, as well as ensuring maritime security.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth posted a picture on X (formerly Twitter) showing what appears to be the collapse of the tower, in response to an earlier post that read: 'Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz.'

It is noteworthy that Chabahar, located on the northern coast of the Gulf of Oman, was bombed earlier in the war, but it has become a more prominent target since the collapse of the ceasefire.
