Iraqi Prime Minister: We will not join any axis and seek to bring viewpoints closer between Washington and Tehran
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi affirmed that his country adopts a balanced policy based on non-engagement in any regional or international axes, stressing that Baghdad continuously seeks to bring viewpoints closer between the United States and Iran.
Al-Zaidi said, in statements to Al-Arabiya channel, that 'Iraq is open to exchanging security information with the United States in a way that serves common interests,' while stressing that Baghdad will not join any axis.
He added that 'Iraq is working to strengthen its relations with its Arab surroundings, announcing his intention to undertake an Arab tour following his upcoming visit to Washington,' and stressing that it is important for Iraq to be part of the Arab fold.
