Israeli forces on Wednesday demolished a residential house, a car wash, and two livestock farms in the town of al-Jadeira, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, the Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate reported.

These operations come as part of an ongoing Israeli policy to demolish unlicensed Palestinian structures in Area C of the West Bank.

A statement from the Jerusalem Governorate, citing al-Jadeira Mayor Ahmad Barjas, said that Israeli bulldozers stormed the town and began demolishing a house, a car wash, and two livestock farms, without clashes.

Barjas said that al-Jadeira and its surrounding area are continuously targeted by Israeli authorities through escalating demolition operations and delivery of demolition notices for homes and facilities, in an attempt to impose further restrictions on citizens and limit Palestinian urban expansion in the area.

For his part, the car wash owner, Muhammad Atim, said that the demolition machinery removed his facility, which was built five years ago, without prior warning, despite them having previously received a stop-work order that was later suspended.

Atim added that the car wash was a source of livelihood for seven families.

He noted that the demolition caused them material losses estimated at about $200,000 and deprived the workers of their only source of income.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israel carried out 341 demolition operations in the first half of this year, destroying 740 Palestinian structures, affecting 923 people, and issuing 254 demolition notices.

International humanitarian law, according to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, prohibits the demolition of civilian property except in cases of absolute military necessity.

The United Nations says that Israeli demolition operations caused the displacement of more than 1,700 Palestinians in 2025.

The West Bank has seen an escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since October 2023, resulting in the killing of 1,182 Palestinians and the arrest of about 24,000, according to official Palestinian data.
