Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, met on Tuesday to discuss the dangerous escalation in the region and efforts to end it.

This call comes amid rising tensions in the Gulf region and an increase in attacks on commercial vessels in its waters.

In a phone call, the two ministers affirmed the need to implement the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, and to return to negotiations to reach a comprehensive solution to the crisis that addresses all causes of tension and ensures lasting security and stability, according to the Petra news agency.

The two ministers stressed the need to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.

Safadi and Sheikh Jarrah condemned Iranian attacks on Jordan, Kuwait, and the sisterly Gulf Cooperation Council states, and affirmed absolute solidarity in confronting them.

The two ministers denounced Houthi attacks on the southern region of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and affirmed full solidarity with Riyadh and support for all steps it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and stability.

The two ministers emphasized support for efforts aimed at restoring calm and ending the escalation.

These consultations underscore the ongoing coordination among Arab countries to confront common security challenges. They also highlight the importance of diplomatic dialogue in de-escalation and maintaining regional stability. Efforts are expected to continue to calm the situation and prevent any dangerous developments.
