(CNN)—US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which a number of regional issues were discussed.

This came according to a report published by the official Saudi Press Agency, which stated: "During the call, they reviewed cooperation relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America and ways to support them in a number of fields, and discussed a number of regional and international issues and exchanged views on them."

The agency added: "During the call, they also reviewed current developments in the region, including the talks between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and stressed the importance of navigation and maritime passage security, and support for everything that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region."

It is noteworthy that the call comes at a time when US forces launched strikes on targets inside Iran and the Revolutionary Guards responded by striking targets inside Kuwait and Bahrain, while attention turns to the fate of the interim agreement between Washington and Tehran after US President Donald Trump stated that it 'ended'.
