Minister of Transport Discusses Enhancing Logistics Cooperation with Indonesia
Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, visited Tanjung Priok Port in the Republic of Indonesia, where he reviewed the operational system of the largest seaport in the country, and the latest practices and technologies used in managing operations and logistics services.
Tanjung Priok Port is the main maritime gateway for international trade in Indonesia, and it includes modern container terminals and advanced facilities for cargo and logistics services, and is classified as an advanced model in operations and logistics management.
The visit aims to review the operational capabilities and infrastructure of the port, examine container handling mechanisms and logistics movement management, learn about best practices in operation, development, and capacity enhancement, in addition to reviewing solutions that support port operations efficiency.
The visit is expected to contribute to enhancing the exchange of expertise in port management and operations and logistics services, support the Kingdom's targets in developing the port sector and enhancing its global competitiveness, as well as promoting logistics integration and supporting supply chain resilience.
In a related context, and in search of prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services held a meeting with His Excellency the Coordinating Minister for Economic and Investment Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto, during which they discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of rail transport, logistics, and postal services, and explored investment opportunities and exchange of expertise in the transport and logistics sector, to support trade exchange and enhance the economic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia.
