A statement from Benjamin Netanyahu's office said that the Israeli Prime Minister will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House next Tuesday.

The visit comes at a time of close coordination in US-Israeli relations regarding regional challenges, particularly the Iranian file.

Netanyahu's office clarified that the invitation came from Trump himself, while the White House has not yet issued any comment after CNN contacted it.

This is Netanyahu's seventh visit to Washington to meet Trump, coming two weeks after ongoing US strikes on Iranian targets, and amid Trump's warnings of targeting bridges and power plants in response to any Iranian attack on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

Netanyahu has long expressed skepticism about Iran's intentions behind the nuclear negotiations and has favored launching renewed strikes against it.

During his stay in the United States, Netanyahu will also participate in the funeral ceremony of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, whom Netanyahu described as 'one of Israel's greatest friends'.

Netanyahu's seventh visit to Washington since Trump's return to the White House is an indication of the depth of the alliance between the two countries. His participation in Graham's funeral also underscores the close ties between Israeli leadership and the American political elite. The two leaders are expected to discuss regional developments, including the progress of nuclear talks with Iran and deterrence against Tehran. Trump had threatened to destroy Iranian infrastructure if ships in Hormuz were attacked.
