US authorities arrested British-American influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan in Miami, in execution of procedures related to an extradition request from Britain, where they face new charges including rape, human trafficking, and assault.

The US Marshals Service confirmed the arrest of the two brothers, noting that details of the arrest warrant remain confidential, while video footage circulated by US media showed them being led away in handcuffs.

For its part, the UK Crown Prosecution Service announced that it has brought additional charges against the two brothers related to rape, arranging or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, along with offenses related to indecent images of a child, confirming that it has formally requested their extradition from the United States after new evidence emerged.

The two brothers, who hold US and British citizenship, also face tax evasion and money laundering charges in the United Kingdom, while they are being pursued in Romania in cases involving human trafficking of minors, sex with a minor, and money laundering. They deny all allegations against them.

Andrew Tate is one of the most controversial figures on social media platforms, promoting ideas associated with the so-called 'manosphere,' and has over 10.8 million followers on platform X. He and his brother are also among the most prominent supporters of US President Donald Trump.
