Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that US intervention in the Strait of Hormuz will complicate the process of gradually reopening it, against the backdrop of recent US attacks on Iran.

This came in a statement issued by the naval forces of the Revolutionary Guard on Thursday regarding the recent US attacks on Iran.

The statement said that 'foreign elements' have no right to be present or intervene in the region or in the Strait of Hormuz.

It said: 'The adventures of the US terrorist army and its interference in determining navigation routes will cause the process of gradually reopening the Strait of Hormuz to face serious problems, and will also expose the interests of countries benefiting from the strait to great risk.'

Since yesterday, the United States has been launching attacks on Iran after Tehran targeted ships while crossing the strategic Strait of Hormuz for global energy supplies.

Iran insists on the necessity of coordination with it before any ship crosses the strait, and rejects passage through any route in Hormuz other than the one it has designated.

On June 18, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding and began negotiations to reach a final agreement with the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar, but the fate of these negotiations remains unclear amid the current military confrontation.
