Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday that his country will not allow the deployment of NATO forces on Ukrainian territory.

Peskov claimed in remarks to reporters in Moscow that the European Union is planning to deploy NATO forces in Ukraine.

He added: 'This is unacceptable, and we cannot allow such steps.'

He stated that Russia continues its so-called 'special military operation' with the aim of preventing the deployment of NATO forces inside Ukraine.

In another context, Peskov denied Ukraine's claim that the Russian e-commerce platform Wildberries was transporting military shipments, after it was targeted by Ukrainian drones.

He alleged that Ukrainian authorities 'continue to target civilian facilities,' causing losses to the platform and small and medium-sized businesses.

He noted that the Russian government is following this case.

Last week, NATO and EU leaders in a joint statement issued after a meeting of the 'Coalition of the Willing' for Ukraine in Paris confirmed the continuation of uninterrupted political, military, and financial support for Kyiv.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a military attack on its neighbor Ukraine, and conditions its end on Kyiv abandoning its bid to join Western military alliances, which Kyiv considers 'interference' in its affairs.
