Sharjah Charity Implements 535 Projects in Guinea Conakry at a Cost of 7.2 Million Dirhams

Sharjah, November 7 / WAM / The Sharjah Charity Association implemented 535 diverse projects in Guinea Conakry at a cost of 7.2 million dirhams from 2006 until the end of October this year.
Mohammed Hamdan Al Zari, Head of the Projects and Aid Department at the association, said that the association's work in the African continent is part of a policy to expand the scope of projects and humanitarian efforts being implemented to develop remote areas in developing countries, providing their residents with a decent life and reflecting the association's vision stemming from the directives of the wise leadership and the call of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for charity to be a means of community development, improving the standard of living for its citizens, and providing relief in accordance with international standards.
Al Zari explained that the charitable works included providing pure drinking water to residents through 443 wells, building 61 mosques, implementing 15 projects under the 'Jafir Al Khair' projects, in addition to constructing 13 classrooms and a school for teaching students, providing literacy classes for teaching the elderly, building homes for the poor, and charity complexes aimed at improving the level of service facilities for residents of remote areas and developing them.
