US President Donald Trump revealed that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin personally assured him that they would not sell or supply weapons to Iran, noting that this pledge also includes Chinese companies.

US President Donald Trump announced that his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping assured him during their recent meeting in Beijing that he would not provide weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran nor sell them in any form, stressing that this pledge extends to Chinese companies.

Trump said: "Given the nature of our relationship, I believe him on that," adding that he offers the Chinese president "very significant facilities" within the framework of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

On the same note, Trump pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin in turn informed him that he would not sell weapons to Iran, despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, affirming that the relationship with Putin still stands, as is the case with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump explained that Washington does not sell weapons directly to Ukraine, but sells them to NATO countries at full price, denying knowledge of how those weapons are later distributed.

The US president concluded that the two major countries often cited in the context of arming Iran "are not involved in that" in his estimation, warning that any involvement in this file "would definitely not be in their interest."
