An Anadolu correspondent reported that two Palestinians were shot by the Israeli army during clashes that broke out after settlers set fire to agricultural lands east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

Local sources told Anadolu Agency that a group of settlers set fire to agricultural areas between the towns of Beit Furik, Beit Dajan, and Salem, causing the flames to approach residents' homes, who rushed to try to contain them.

They added that the Israeli army fired towards the Palestinians, resulting in injuries.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement that its crews treated two gunshot wounds to the abdomen during the Israeli army's incursion into the town of Beit Furik, and they were transferred to hospital for treatment.

About 750,000 settlers live in 141 settlements and 224 outposts in the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, and they commit attacks aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians.

On the other hand, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that a settler was seriously injured 'in a stabbing incident' after clashes broke out between Israelis and Palestinians at a farm near the settlement of 'Alon Moreh,' built on Palestinian land near Beit Furik.

The authority added that the Israeli army 'fired at two Palestinians,' without further details.

In the same context, sources reported that Israeli forces closed the Beit Furik military checkpoint and carried out an incursion into the town.

Since the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 8, 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have intensified their attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.

On Monday, the Israeli human rights center B'Tselem said that settler attacks in the occupied West Bank are an example of Israel's encouragement of 'ethnic cleansing' against the Palestinian people.

The attacks include: killing, arrest, vandalizing and demolishing homes, bulldozing agricultural land, preventing farmers from accessing it, displacing Palestinians, and expanding settlements on their land.

Palestinians warn that Israel is paving the way with these attacks to formally annex the West Bank, which would undermine the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state as stipulated in UN resolutions.
