The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced late Monday evening the conclusion of the latest round of military strikes on Iran, revealing details of the targets hit in the operation.

CENTCOM explained in an official statement that it 'targeted Iranian military command centers, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems, aimed at undermining Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.'

The statement noted that since the beginning of May, CENTCOM forces have facilitated the transit of approximately 900 commercial ships and 450 million barrels of crude oil through the strait, stressing that its forces 'remain ready to hold Iran accountable for its unjustified aggression against civilian sailors.'

On a parallel note, the US State Department issued a 'worldwide caution' for its citizens on Tuesday, citing 'rising tensions in the Middle East,' and warning that 'the security situation remains complex with the potential for unexpected escalation.' The State Department called on Americans residing in the region to 'exercise caution and prepare for the possibility of flight cancellations.'

In this context, US President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that Iran 'will pay the price' for the killing of a number of US soldiers in recent days, as the number of American dead in the war on Iran rose to 17 soldiers, while the remains of another soldier are being examined.

Trump wrote on the platform 'Truth Social': 'Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay a multiplied price for it,' noting that he informed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Keen of this directive.

Trump had threatened last week to expand the scope of military targets to include power plants and bridges, in addition to sending ground forces to take control of Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub, and bomb the underground 'Mount Axe' nuclear site.
