The US military announced Sunday evening the start of a new wave of strikes against Iran, indicating that they aim to undermine Tehran's ability to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command said in a statement that its forces began at 21:00 GMT launching more strikes against Iran to continue undermining its ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz freely. It added that Trump ordered these strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable.

Explosions in multiple locations Al Arabiya channel quoted Iranian media as saying an explosion occurred in Shahbandar in Hormozgan province. It also noted hearing explosions in Bushehr province, and explosions in Qeshm and Jask. In addition, several explosions were heard in Sirik and Bandar Abbas.

Iranian employee killed Iranian state media reported the killing of an employee of a telecommunications company in attacks in Hormozgan province, located in southern Iran on the Gulf, as strikes resumed between Tehran and Washington. The (IRNA) news agency reported that following the attack on Farur in Bandar Lengeh, an employee of the Iranian mobile phone company was killed while performing his duties, and two of his colleagues were injured.
